Halloween & The End of the World

Days before Halloween the hubs likes to indulge my past pleasure of scary movies. Before I ever had children or knew what it was to have worries beyond my imagination for another, I thrilled my blood by spooking myself, jumping out from underneath the protective warm blanket I sit under. I’ve since lost the enjoyment, finding my mind race in nights where he was away working and I was alone to oversee our kids. My mind can be silly. My hubs seems to believe that I secretly want to see these movies…he’s wrong.

This year, he’s begun my little montage with Legion. I’m watching this now. Yes. Watching and writing, writing and watching…such is an evenings relaxation for a multi-tasker with too much to do. I digress.

Legion. Short answer on what it’s about is: “remote desert truck stop, the fate of the world will be decided. Evil’s armies are amassing. Armed and united by the Archangel Michael, a group of strangers become unwitting soldiers on the front lines of the Apocalypse. Their mission: protect a waitress and her sacred unborn child from the relentless, bloody siege of the demonic legion.” See the trailer here. This is certainly different than his usual “The Ring” renting for me, but alas, here we are.

And it got me thinking.

It seems to be, religious, spiritual or atheist, that everyone has their own ideas of how the world would end, if it would end, that it would. Would it be an implosion from the raping of the earth? Would it be man’s inability to reason, see beyond their own greed and self-righteousness, finally pushing a button to get “the other guys” as in the worries of the Cold War? Will it be an Apocalypse of one sort or another? A wave of water that comes and washes us away? Or could it be that there’s no ending and we will repair what needs fixing?

Personally, I have my own thoughts. I’m not religious, more spiritual, and my thoughts find to be a combination of all, sprinkled with a burning hope and belief that “good” will prevail over…the end. I don’t find myself consumed by these worries, though there are times, like watching this movie, that my thoughts wash over this subject and I wonder…

What do you think?

Like you, I have no answers about how it will all end
I think there will be some kind of new beginning though and it gives me hope
I think we are going to solve the energy crisis which really is the biggest problem the earth has now

@K Floortime Lite Mama~ If I think too hard about the ‘ending’ it hurts my head and saddens my soul. Best not to go down that road too far. I do think there will be a new beginning as well and completely agree about the energy crisis. I just wonder if there are enough energy / nature conscious people out there to truly make a difference for all.

When one is not thinking, one remembers to quiet the mind and hear the wisdom in silence. Thanks to Jannie Funster for introducing me to your blog. Enjoy every moment. Ask and all is already given. Awaken and you realize you need nothing and already have and become all that matters. Blessings!

I have never seen this movie. I liked the Freddy Krueger kind of scare.

I do very much believe that good is and will always prevail over that which is not good. Everything is made of love. Really.

Oh, and speaking of good over evil — there’s Liara Covert, a good thing if ever there were one.
